Chimbuk Hill, Bandarban

Chimbuk Hill is a noteworthy hill located 26 kilometers from Bandarban district in the rural hill area of Thanchi. It is known for its stunning natural beauty and is a popular tourist destination in the region. Chimbuk Hill is the third-highest mountain in Bangladesh, standing at an approximate height of around 2,424 feet (about 740 meters) above sea level.

The hilltop provides breathtaking views of the lush green valleys, forests, and hills of Bandarban. Visitors can witness stunning sunsets and sunrises from this vantage point, making it a favorite spot for nature lovers and photographers.

How to go:

First you have to come to Bandarban, which can be reached by direct bus from Dhaka. From Kalabagan, Syedabad, Gabtali and Fakirapool in Dhaka, transport like buses leave for Bandarban every day. You can easily reach Bandarban by taking any bus between 10:00 PM and 11:30 PM. If you leave at 9-10 pm, you will reach Bandarban by 7 am. Besides, you can go from Dhaka to Chittagong by train or air and from there you can go to Bandarban.

Bandarban to Chimbuk:

One can go to Chimbuk by hiring Chander Gari, Jeep or CNG from Bandarban district town bus stand. It will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach from Bandarban city. In this case, it is important to remember that no vehicles ply on the Chimbuk-Thanchi route after 4 pm. Usually tourists hire cars to visit Chimbuk, Nilgiri, Shailprapat Waterfall together.
