Alikadam Cave

The Alikadam Cave, located in Alikadam Upazila of Bandarban district in Bangladesh, is a natural wonder that entices adventurers and nature enthusiasts. Carved by nature's forces over centuries, the Alikadam Cave is a limestone cave nestled within the hills of Alikadam. Ali's tunnel is named after Ali's hill. Its fascinating formations and chambers bear testimony to the natural processes that shaped it.

The cave is surrounded by scenic landscapes typical of Bandarban, offering picturesque views of the hills and greenery. The enigma surrounding this cave at the summit of two hills near the Matamuhuri-Twain Canal, three kilometers from Alikadam Sadar, seems endless. The journey to the cave is often as beautiful as the cave itself, with breathtaking vistas along the way.

There are basically three caves here, and seeing all of them will take roughly two hours. Exploring the cave presents an exciting adventure for visitors. As they traverse through the cave's passages and chambers, they encounter stalactites, stalagmites, and unique rock formations, creating an otherworldly experience.

Apart from its geological marvels, the cave might also hold cultural significance for the local indigenous communities. Visitors can often learn about folklore or local stories associated with the cave from the inhabitants of the area.

You must see the caverns along the jhiri route. The cave mouth can be found above Jhiri. The first cave is accessible by a ladder. In the meantime, you must climb a small hill. While the Alikadam Cave offers adventure, explorers need to exercise caution during their visit. The terrain might be rugged and uneven, and proper guidance or local assistance is advisable for safe exploration.

Dhaka to Alikadam

Currentlysome buses run directly to Alikadam from Dhaka. If you stay in Dhaka, it is better to go directly to Alikadam. It saves a lot of time and will reduce the hassle. Alternatively, you can travel to Alikadam via Chakria. Any bus headed for Cox's Bazar will take you to Chakria. When you get on the bus, ask the bus driver to drop you off at Chakaria Bazar, and he will. Local busses to Alikadam depart from Chakaria's new bus terminal. Every day from 7.30 a.m. until 6.30 p.m., a bus departs for Alikadam. You can also go to Alikadam by local Chander car or reserve a Chander car if there are a large group of people. You can come from Chakaria by Alikadam Chand gari ie jeep. It takes two hours by bus and less than 30 minutes or 40 minutes by car.

Ali's cave from Alikadam

From Alikadam, first you have to go to Manchupru Para. This 3 km route can be done on foot or by easy bike. Twine Canal runs through this neighborhood. One has to cross the Twin Canal and walk for some time on the hilly and steep path to reach Ali's tunnel. It will take about 20-30 minutes to reach the first Ali's Cave from Mangchupru Para. If you want to see all the caves, it will take about 3 hours to visit from Alikadam.
