Satvaikhum is another noteworthy Khum (waterfall) of Bandarban district. This waterfall is located a little away from Amiyakhum, it lies in a rural area called Nakshiyang on the Bangladesh-Myanmar border in Thanchi upazila of Bangladesh's Bandarban district.
Satvaikhum is also known as Velakhum by some. It is because one must travel this route via Bamboo Raft (Vela). Satvaikhum received its name after seven massive stones that fell from Debotar Pahar Mountain. The first of the seven huge stones was just split in two. And the villagers think that this occurred as a result of the gods' curse as a result of freely cutting down trees from the hills.
A tiny, serene, green stream meanders between the massive, stony rocks. Ride on a bamboo raft through this slender brook. This amazing natural stone fortification is the Satvaikhum Waterfall. Nature appears to have given her all in this place.
How To Go:
Satvaikhum can be reached by walking upstream from Amiyakhum Falls for 15 to 20 minutes. Take a bus or jeep from Dhaka to the Bandarban district, then take a boat via Thanchi to Padmukh. The next step is to hike across Paddajhiri and camp at Thuichapara for the night. You can resume your walk the following morning, seeing Devtapahar, Amiyakhum, Velakhum, Satvaikhum, and Nafakhum one by one before returning to Bandarban via Remakri. Overall the journey is very thrilling and full of adventure.
