Rijuk waterfall comprises one of the most magnificent naturally formed waterfalls in Pantla Mauja, 66 kilometers from Bandarban and 7 kilometers from Ruma Upazilla. Since the Marmas are a dominant group here they named this waterfall in their language as “Ri Swang Swang”.This beautiful stream feeds into the Sangu river from a height of roughly 300 feet. Standing adjacent to the Sangu river adds an extra natural charm to its beauty. While crossing Ruma Bazar to Thanchi, you may observe this ever-young Rijuk waterfalls.
Throughout the year, water pours into the Sangu River, from a high hill with a magical soothing sound, and this water is shiny like pearl particles in space, producing a unique natural beauty. The water is so clean that stones beneath it may be seen clearly through it. And the stream is so high here, especially during the monsoon, that even the engine boats struggle to reach the waterfalls. Altogether journey is very adventurous and pleasing.
The Marma community can be found on the opposite side of Rijuk. This neighborhood is known as the New Rijukpara. Rijukpara is the name of Marma's settlement on the hill. The friendliness and genuineness of the Marma people are unparalleled.
