Damtua waterfall is located in deep hills of Bandarban's Alikadam. It is regarded one of the most inaccessible waterfalls in the district due to the 12 km of roads that must be covered to gain a view of it. The waterfall lies about 6-7 kilometers from Adu Murung Para, on the district's Alikadam-Thanchi highway, around the 17-kilometer point.
Many people call the Damtua waterfall as Damtua/Tuk A/Lamonei Fountain. The water falling from two sides in the open space with the fountains and another sort of beauty in the moonlight give it the name "Lamonei" fountain in the native Murong language (lamo = moon and noi = light).
Wangpa Falls, Tuk A Jhiri Falls, and several other spectacular cascades may be found on the way to Damtua.
How to Go:
Alikadam can be reached via Chakaria in Cox's Bazar from Dhaka. Then you have to look for a Chander Gari. With clearance from the Alikadam army camp, you can hire a motorcycle from Panbazar to an 18-kilometer radius. With a local guide, you can return to Damtua in six hours.
Keep in mind that even though the waterfall is located in Alikadam in Bandarban, you do not have to travel to Bandarban to get there. It will be convenient through Chakaria in Cox's Bazar to reach Alikadam upazilla. So, from anywhere in the country, you have to take a direct bus to Cox's Bazar and get yourself in Chakaria first. You may get to Alikadam via bus, jeep, or CNG from there.
