Dhuppani Waterfall, Belaichhari, Rangamati

Locals call to the Dhuppani waterfall as Duppani jhorna. In their mother tongue, Dhup/Dup signifies white. The water that is pouring down from above is white in color. It was thus given the name Dhuppani waterfall. It is situated in the Belaichhari upazilla of Rangamati. About the year 2000, a Buddhist monk started to meditate here, and soon after, everyone came to know about the fountain. Everyone was unaware of it prior to this incident. This waterfall is 150 meters high above the ground. Water sounds can be heard from a distance of two kilometers.

The Dhuppani waterfall is not only known for its white water but also for its location in a dense forest, which adds to its allure. The sound of the water can be heard from a distance of two kilometers, making it even more captivating for visitors.

How to Go:

There are many bus services from Dhaka to Kaptai in Rangamati district. It takes 2 hours 30 minutes to reach Belaichhari. And if you’re interested to go by local trawler, you can go from Kaptaighat at 8:30 am, 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm on the trawler. Then you have to go to Uluchhari, a distance of 2 hours from Belaichhari. It is mandatory to take a guide from Uluchhari.

You have to trek for about 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach Dhuppani by foot from Uluchhari by boat crossing the water. Take good quality trekking shoes. It takes about 30 minutes to reach Dhuppani waterfall from Dhuppani Para. Dhuppani is located about 200 meters below the hillslope from Dhuppani Para.
