The Rangpur Division, which separated from the Rajshahi Division on January 25, 2010, is the newest division in Bangladesh. Rapid changes have been occurring in this metropolis ever since. The construction of several man-made recreation areas for the refreshment of both inhabitants and visitors is one of the most significant improvements. However Chiklee Water Park is one of them.

One of the busiest leisure areas in the Rangpur division right now is this park. The city corporation built it around the Chiklee Beel, a reservoir that is 100 years old. It is located in the vicinity of Hanuman Tala. In the past, the winter guest birds used to gather here.

The location was once a Hindu pilgrimage site due to the presence of a temple. Today, people from various regions gather here for picnics and recreational activities. The main attractions of this spot are the trees and the artificial water fountain. At night, the view is enhanced by colorful lights that draw visitors.

The park features several canals, and it occasionally hosts a fish-catching festival. If you enjoy fishing, this event is a must-attend! There are also seating areas where visitors can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Additionally, the park includes a kids' zone with various rides available for children.

Important Information to know before going:

Ticket: You’ve to buy ticket before entering the park. It will cost 30/- per person. Tickets are essential for joining the fish-catching festival as well.

• Winter (November to February): This is the best time to visit, as the temperatures are comfortable for outdoor activities, making it ideal for sightseeing, boat rides, and picnics.
• Monsoon (June to September): While the park looks lush and green, heavy rains may disrupt outdoor activities and cause some areas to be inaccessible. If you enjoy rain-drenched landscapes and don’t mind occasional showers, this season could be special for nature lovers.

How to Reach:

The nearest railway station is Rangpur Railway Station which is only 25 mins away from the park. From the station, you can take auto/CNG to reach this beautiful destination.

If you're traveling from a distant city, you don’t need to worry! Chikli Beel is well-connected by road to nearby cities and towns. You can take a private car or hire a taxi to reach the location.

The park generally opens early in the morning (around 10 AM) and closes around 8 PM in the evening.
