Bhetarbandh Zamindar House, Bhetarbandh, Kurigram.

Bhetarbandh Zamindar Bari, or landlord house, is located in Bhetarbandh village of Bhetarbandh union, which is about 16 kilometers away from Kurigram's Nageshwari subdistrict. The headquarters of Bhetarbandh pargana were in Rajshahi during the British rule.  The Permanent Settlement law led the relocation of Bhrtarbandh pargana to Nageshwari subdistrict. The zamindars established themselves here at that time. However, it is unknown which zamindar erected this zamindar house or when it was created.

The construction style of this zamindar house, like that of other zamindar houses, conveys a sense of taste. The architectural elements, however, distinguish this zamindar house from other zamindar buildings. Although it may appear odd, the inside of the zamindar's house is composed of wood rather than brick-stone-lime. The main entrance, on the other hand, is composed of brick, mortar, and lime. The magnificent entryway has a round arched archway. The arch is flanked by towering pillars. The plaster of the landlord's house rises and reveals its position through the bricks over time. Almost half of the wood-built zamindar home has been lost to time, and the remaining half is being used as their office.

How to go & Where to stay:

From Kurigram, you can take a ride of CNG or easy bike to reach Nageshwari Upazila to get to the house of the Zamindar.

There are several residential hotels of different quality near Ghoshpara and Central Bus Terminal in Kurigram city.

Food Facilities:

The food served at the hotels in Kurigram is quite good. “Sidal Bharta” and “Bairati” fish from the Teesta River are very popular dishes of Kurigram. You can enjoy them while visiting this district.
