Zamindar Muraridev Ghoshal Bhattacharya established Tushbhandar Zamindar House about four hundred years ago in Kaliganj of Lalmonirhat district. Tushbhandar Zamindarbari was founded around 400 years ago by Zamindar Muraridev Ghoshal Bhattacharya in Kaliganj, Lalmonirhat district. Muraridev was a Brahmin.
This house, locally known as Tushbhandar Zamindar Bari, is a historic mansion located in the Lalmonirhat district of Bangladesh. It is presumed that in 1634 AD, during the reign of Maharaja Pran Narayan, Muraridev Ghoshal Bhattacharya set foot to Cooch Behar with a religious issue called Rasik Rai Vigraha from the twenty-four parganas district. Land was granted for religious purposes back then. Maharaja Pran Narayan Ghoshal gave Bhattacharya 9 mauzas to worship the deity. However, because Ghosal Bhattacharya was a Brahmin, he protested to the Maharaja's donation and requested to the king that rent be charged on the property. However, the king requested rice husk as a form of tribute. As a result, paddy husk was gathered from the entire zamindari area and brought to the monarch of Cooch Behar, where it was stored on the east side of the zamindar residence. Because of this tragedy, this zamindar house became known as Tushbhandar zamindar house. The Kaliganj upazila is named after another zamindar from same lineage, Kali Prasad Roy Chowdhury. The historic rule of the Tushbhandar zamindar bari came to an end over 400 years after its establishment in 1935, with the death of zamindar Girindra Mohan Roy Chowdhury.

Many zamindar houses, including Tushbhander, transitioned into public or private ownership. And today, the Tushbhander Zamindar House is often visited by tourists and history enthusiasts interested in exploring Bangladesh's rich architectural and cultural heritage.

There are various transport for visiting Lalmonirhat from Dhaka. Lalmoni Express train departs from Kamalapur railway station at 10:20 PM every 6 days except Friday. And several buses leave for Lalmonirhat from Gabtali and Kalyanpur.
It is about 27 km from Lalmonirhat city to TUshbhandar Zamindar House. You can take various local transport from Lalmonirhat to Tushbhandar zamindar's residence, which is located in Tushbhandar union of Kaliganj upazila.
